Booking The Hall

The large size of our hall makes it a very useful and versatile space for all sorts of functions

Including parties, meetings, wedding receptions, classes etc. Compton Hall Amateur Dramatic Society (CHADS) stage productions annually and Rural Arts visit with various touring shows.

The Benson Hall, Compton Bassett

The original village hall was located in the small field east of the War Memorial. Built of timber, the whole floor shook when dances were held there! It was demolished in the 1950s after the new building was constructed, at the behest of Guy Benson who also gave land away to the council for the Briar Leaze housing. The new hall opened in 1955 and bears his name in respect of his generosity.

Its large size, for such a small village, makes it a very useful and versatile space for all sorts of functions, including parties, meetings, wedding receptions, classes etc. Compton Hall Amateur Dramatic Society (CHADS) stage productions annually and Rural Arts visit with various touring shows. Main Hall

There is seating provided for 120 people or a mixed table and seating arrangement can accommodate up to 90. The maximum number of people for standing only events is 250.


Committee Room

A smaller side room is available, which comfortably seats up to 12 people around a large table.


Stage

We also are able to offer a good stage with stage lighting, gantry lighting and sound system all run through a suitable mixing desk if required


Kitchen

The kitchen/bar area offers water heating/tea making facilities, with modern hob and oven, dishwasher and serving/bar area

Village Residents/Charity Bookings - The Benson Hall is well suited to a variety of uses, from pre-school playgroups, art clubs, parties, wedding receptions, pop-up restaurants, theatre, or private gatherings.

£15.00 / hour

Private and Commercial bookings from outside the parish are welcome for a host of group activities and the hall has projection and screen equipment for conferences or meetings.
